The Daily Beast columnist to speak at the 2023 equity, diversity and inclusion conference

Toward One Wisconsin is excited to announce that Wajahat Ali, writer and public speaker, will be a keynote speaker for the 2023 Toward One Wisconsin Conference.

Watch Wajahat Ali speak about T1W 2023

Ali describes himself as a columnist, public speaker, recovering attorney and tired dad of three cute kids. His work has appeared in publications such as The Atlantic, The New York Times and The Washington Post. Additionally, Ali is a TED speaker, award-winning playwright and Peabody-nominated producer.

Drawing from his life experiences, including growing up as a Muslim Pakistani-American, Ali’s work focuses how we can build an inclusive and compassionate America in an age of distrust.

“In this country, not all of us have been able to be the protagonist. We’re still the side characters,” Ali explained. “Our story hasn’t been told. And if you aren’t telling your story in America, your story’s always being told to you by others, and for you by others.”

Don’t miss your chance to hear from Wajahat Ali and other experts at the 2023 Toward One Wisconsin Conference, happening April 25-26 in the Fox Cities. Attendees will learn about and discuss the work of diversity, equity and inclusion, and how to move from talk to action.
